WIGGINS — A local softball and baseball equipment donation drive is set to give community members the opportunity to help young athletes gain access to the gear they need.
Donations will be accepted every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. throughout the summer at Hood Fields.
Hood Fields is the primary park for youth baseball and softball tournaments in the county, providing plenty of space for a family-focused environment.
The drive is accepting like-new softball and baseball equipment, including softballs and baseballs, bats, gloves, helmets, cleats, catcher’s gear, bat bags and practice equipment.
The drive is set to support athletes who may not have access to proper equipment by providing affordable opportunities to participate in youth sports.
