Ame Posey

Ame Posey, Community Engagement Specialist

Ame is an award-winning journalist with more than 15 years of experience in media and public relations. Her early career focused on developing communications strategies for international organizations in Russia, China and Hong Kong. These experiences abroad gave her a global perspective that continues to inform her work. However, while her experience spans continents, her roots remain firmly planted in Southeast Mississippi.

Most recently, Ame worked as a Digital Content Producer for WDAM-TV. She specialized in investigative reporting and multi-media digital storytelling, while also learning to anchor occasional digital broadcasts. Prior to WDAM, she worked as a reporter for Pine Belt News and Signature Magazine. Her reporting earned multiple accolades from the Mississippi Association of Broadcasters and the Mississippi Press Association, including the 2025 MAB First Amendment Award of Excellence.

Ame is currently an active member of Investigative Reporters & Editors and previously served on its International Subcommittee. Closer to home, she is an active member of her church and a troop leader for the Girl Scouts of Greater Mississippi.

Ame holds a master’s degree in Global Communications from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from William Carey University.
