PETAL — Petal families can begin planning now for First Bridge’s annual Petal Family Health and Resource Fair, scheduled for July 13 at Petal First Baptist Church. 

The fair will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is open to Petal residents with children in prekindergarten through 12th grade. Organizers say the event is meant to help families prepare for the new school year. 

Children may receive school uniforms, a new backpack, a haircut, and hearing, vision and dental checks while supplies last. Children must be present to receive services. 

Families will also be able to learn about available community resources, including food pantries, housing assistance, child care and therapy services. 

Online registration opens July 1. Families who sign up will be asked to share their children’s clothing sizes and choose a one-hour time slot. Walk-ins may also be accepted, but the event is limited to Petal residents.
