PERRY — The Perry County Tax Office is reminding residents to pay their 2025 land taxes before the Aug. 28 deadline to avoid additional penalties and possible placement on the county’s land sale list.
County officials said Feb. 1 was the deadline to pay without a penalty. Since then, unpaid taxes have accrued a 0.50% penalty each month through August.
Officials said paying sooner can help property owners avoid additional costs that continue to build over time.
Properties with unpaid taxes will be published in the local newspaper in August ahead of the county’s annual land tax sale.
This year’s land tax auction is scheduled for Aug. 31.
Residents with questions can call the Perry County Tax Office at 601-964-3398, ext. 4.
