HATTIESBURG — Cornerstone Counseling, a Christian counseling center, opened at Venture Church’s Hunt Club campus Monday with a mission to offer a variety of services and resources for anyone who seeks help.
Cornerstone Counseling originally opened in 2012, focusing on establishing a place where individuals can go to feel tended to, protected and seen. The center extends professional, biblically centered talk therapy to those who choose from the optional services offered by two licensed professional counselors and one biblical counselor onsite.
Venture Church’s Hunt Club campus will be the fourth location in the state to receive this counseling center and the first in South Mississippi.
On Nov. 17, Craig Curtis, Venture Church’s Lincoln Road campus lead pastor, said in a video on the Venture Church Facebook page that the center will feel “homey and warm.”
These services are open to individuals ages 4 and up, with options to use their health insurance to gain faith-based mental health support.
The services the Christian center will provide include individual, premarital, marriage, family, adoption, children, adolescent and telehealth counseling, as well as intern program opportunities, all of which have specialized areas participants can focus on.
The Cornerstone Counseling website also offers a library section with various healing and spirituality publications available for purchase.
There are also external help websites, mental hospitals, treatment facilities and weeklong programs the center can help participants contact.
