GEORGE COUNTY — The Lucedale-George County Public Library and the MSU Extension George County Office will host a children’s program about backyard chickens at 4 p.m. July 14.
Ann Howard of the MSU Extension George County Office will discuss chicken care, feeding and the role chickens can play as backyard pets.
Christine Cole, librarian services at the Lucedale-George County Public Library, said the event was inspired by requests from children who regularly visit the library.
“We do often work with the MSU Extension office to do events that are tied to agriculture,” Cole said.
The free program is open to the public. Children younger than 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
