HATTIESBURG — Rouses Markets has taken over the last remaining Winn-Dixie location in Mississippi, marking the grocery chain’s sixth store in the state.
Rouses Markets offers grocery items along with services such as catering, a full-service bakery, a seafood market, café dining and fresh produce.
In a Nov. 17 Facebook post, Rouses Markets announced plans to open 10 grocery stores by replacing and remodeling Winn-Dixie locations operated by parent company Southeastern Grocers.
“These Winn-Dixie stores have served their neighborhoods for many years, and we’re proud to welcome them, their team members, and their customers into the Rouses Markets family,” the company said in the post.
The store at 4400 Hardy St. is listed as the company’s 96th location to open, according to the Rouses Markets website.
The new market plans to offer Curbside Convenience, allowing customers to shop and pay through a mobile app. The service includes mobile ordering, in-store pricing, personal shoppers, same-day delivery and alcohol availability for pickup where permitted.
Customers who receive SNAP benefits will be able to use those benefits for online purchases through curbside pickup and delivery services, including Instacart, DoorDash and Uber Eats.
