What Is the Planner?
The Planner is a new public service from the Roy Howard Community Journalism Center, designed to keep you informed, connected and civically engaged — right here in your community. Read more about the Planner here.
Find Your County
Your Weekly Civic Snapshot
We publish a new edition of the Southeast Mississippi Planner each week — organized by county and packed with practical information, including:
— News from the Source: Straightforward reporting on local government, schools, health care and other community priorities.
— Civic Watch: Public meetings, agendas, minutes and more — so you can know what your officials are discussing before decisions are made.
— Weekly Highlights: Spotlights on neighbor-submitted notes, events and important deadlines to keep on your radar.
Who Is Behind the Planner?
The Planner is produced by student journalists working at the Roy Howard Community Journalism Center. These students are guided by full-time RHCJC staff members — veteran journalists with professional newsroom experience — who provide oversight, training and editorial support. Together, the team curates and verifies information that connects residents to public life in their communities.
How to Contribute?
We’re collecting Neighbor Notes now — quick community updates about events, opportunities, needs and small wins across southeast Mississippi. Think of it like a digital bulletin board for your town.
